It's hard to believe the year is behind us and we're in a new decade!
I hope this finds all of you healthy, happy and hopeful for the new year ahead.
This year has been filled with much to be grateful for, a few things I'd like to forget about, a few tears and lots of laughs.
My husband lost his mom this year and it's the first parent for either of us. Another of our parents was diagnosed with cancer, fortunately doing very well as of now, and we're so grateful.
It's been such a process, first your in disbelief then you're profoundly sad and now we find ourselves reflecting on the a life shared.
My mother in law was strong willed, independent and lived life 100% on her own terms, sometimes to our dismay...lol
With her passing it's really made me think about living my life on my terms, and what that looks like for me.
How many of my decisions are made knowingly or unknowingly from a place of what will others think. How many times have I not done something I wanted to for fear of others judgments.
This year in my mother in laws honor, I'm going to make decisions for me. I don't mean being selfish, I just mean doing what brings me joy and not being afraid of what others will say.
I've been a realtor for 11 years in California, and started this food journey for fun.
Cooking and entertaining has always been my passion. My favorite day would be pouring rain, fireplace lit, champagne in my glass, great music playing, and I can cook all day!
Well, wait....it could be a smidge better if my kitchen island was filled with friends or family, and of course my hubby.
This year after a lot of thought I've decided to go it full time. I love food, cooking, experimenting, researching and most of all filling my home with people to share a meal with.
I'm excited about the future, I have a lot of collaborations in the works and a lot of fun things to come.
I will be sharing more about myself through video on my Instagram page. I will be hosting and sharing some fun events in my home/kitchen and I'll probably through in a bit of interior design ideas as well. There will of course be lots of food coming your way as well.
I hope all of you are inspired this year to do the things that fill your soul, it makes us better people.
With so much loss in the last two years, and being a cancer survivor myself I am so aware that tomorrow is a gift and not a promise.
Don't wait, do the things you want to do, say the things you want to say, eat well and be in the moment.
Thank you so much for hoping on this ride with me. I'm grateful for the support and a place to share my food experiences.
I hope you enjoy the seat at my table.....there are more chairs so tell your friends!
Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. If there are certain kinds of recipes you'd like to see, some kind of food you're curious about or any food or home questions, I'd love to hear from you.
Cheers to a new year, new experiences, good health, new friends and lots of time with dear friends and family.
