Spicy Garlic Honey Green Beans

We love these beans around here!


They literally cook in 3 minutes and are so flavorful. Don't be put off by spicy, if that's not your thing just adjust the spice, start with 1 tsp and add what you like.

I have added leftover chicken or ground turkey to this and put over some rice for a delicious rice bowl.


I use good old canned fried onions on this, and I don't get paid for this, but honestly Trader Joe's are the best.

If you don't use them pick some up, they're great on salads, soups and baked potatoes as well.

Little secret, if you put them on a plate in the micro for about 20 seconds its like you just fried them yourself!


Spicy Garlic Honey Green Beans

serves 4

prep time 10 minutes


1 lb green beans stem ends snapped off

1 Tb honey

1 Tb chili garlic sauce

2 cloves of minced garlic

1 1/2 Tb olive oil

1 Tb fresh mint

1/4 cup fried onions

sea salt and pepper


In a non stick skillet over med/high heat add your oil and let heat up, toss in your beans they should sizzle! Let them cook about 3 minutes, they will blister a bit, that's exactly what you want.




In a small bowl combine the honey and chili sauce.



Add in your garlic and cook another 30 seconds or so, pour in the honey chili sauce mixture and turn the heat off. Stir well and top with fresh mint and fried onions add a good sprinkle of sea salt and a little black pepper.
